Not a great way to build credit, I tried multiple times to get a hold of someone when having difficulty paying online and setting up autopay, just to be redirected over and over again to another recording. This caused the account to be closed and 4 fees of $41 which is the balance that is on my account and they keep reporting me to the credit bureaus.
When I disputed it, they sent me a letter with my charges.
I am a single mom to a young child with Down syndrome. I am trying to improve my credit after a bad divorce and instead of helping me, they just keep hurting me further.

First Progress's priority is to provide customers with documents, which is not a problem, but it is difficult to get them to provide you with proof of correspondence or documentation from them when you request it. Poor customer service. Poor correspondence.
Preferred solution: Email correspondence of status.

Every time you speak to someone, they have a different scenario as to how something happened; NOBODY is on the same page. I was told that although my acct is current and my card is expired, I cannot get a new card until I pay $4.00 thats over balance- DUE TO THE ANNUAL FEE BEING TAKEN OUT. When you ask to have the call escalated, youre told theyre unable to do that and when asking for employee ID to file a complaint, youre told theyre not allowed to give that information out.
Absolutely poor customer service, absolutely poor.

It doesn't take that long to do anything! You get charged 3 late fees before you even get the card!
Then there's no information for you to collect the info needed to make a payment! And there's not a way for you to sign into the online portal unless you have received the card! One guy I talked to told me they couldn't reverse late fees, which is a lie because how can you charge me fees for a card I haven't been using? I took the initial fee on the chin, but NO MORE!!
This stops now! Either send those approvals and cards out or stop accepting our deposits!
Don't take your damn time just because you can!! Foolishness!

I just received a credit alert stating that I have an account with you guys and I owe a balance of $29.99 any account I had with you guys was closed out some time ago, I see no reason why this is happening I also have paperwork stating that my account was closed out can this problem be rectified asap thank you

That is the worst credit card anybody could ever get you send in your payment and it takes up to 10 business days for it to post your account knowingly that they have already cashed that money order that check or took it out of your bank account and they still have not put on your account but you still have to wait that 10 business days for it to clear your account do not use this credit card

I have not received my card yet. It has been over a month and I have received a statement but no card
Fraudulently Altered Terms And Conditions
Applied and was approved for First Progress credit card January 15, 2024. The application was an instant approval application. The terms and conditions explicitly stated that I have 90 days to make the deposit to the secured credit card. This was again explained to me only yesterday February 16 when I called customer service at the 866-706-**** number. However I received some kind of notification which I questioned the legitimately of the email I only had until February 15 to make the deposit. I questioned this since my credentials were compromised and the responsible party clearly have the technological capability to *** my Internet access and give the impression for example "First Progress" card applicants only had up until February 15 to fund the account. It's also clear to me that whomever is responsible for this also have the technological capability to not only *** my phone and emails but can also *** into the other parties end and instruct employees to back up fake company policy like what I pointed out.
This can not be the doing of some random person or hacker because it includes financial institutions, federal government agencies, police departments etc. So it's my opinion as a African American it's from the federal level that wants to impede black men who have done what they were supposed to even according to their own laws.
I bring this to this financial institutions attention because the group behind this problem have been interfering in my life and prevented me from obtaining their own law.

Their web page doesn't work. I can log in and it won't accept a payment.
When you call they tell you to go to the web page.
When you go to the web page they tell you to write them a letter.

Nothing has been resolved. I've now been charged fees that have run my balance over my limit.
First Progress continues to add fees (that have now run my balance over my limit) and threaten to ruin my credit. While looking at my current bill I found contact information to the bank behind First Progress.
The only way to contact them is in writing.
My plan is to send copies of my account showing that I made two payments that were never processed and outline all the steps I've tried to take to correct their failures. I hope Synovus Bank will do what's right and finally get this mess fixed.
I've made 2 payments within a month and NEITHER was ever processed. I contacted customer service and was given several excuses and told I could resubmit my payment.
If they aren't processing the payments, how is it even legal for them to charge the $41 late fees? This is criminal beyond understanding.

- Customer service is not helpful whatsoever
- There is no easy way to contact them to get any kind of resolution

Verified ReviewerBeen waiting for a new card for over a month
They have not contacted me, and it's now been FIVE weeks and I still have not received a replacement card.
They read my email from this site 3 days ago, but I haven't received any kinda big response from them at all.
On Sunday Oct 8th I received a card in the mail but noticed the the new card had the same number as the card I reported as lost When I tried activating it , it didn't work via the automated system .
I was unableto speak to a reply because were closed.
I called again on Oct.11 and was told but a repl that there was some sort of system update which triggered the shipment of the dupe/deactive card to me. I was assured by customer service that a replacement card (with different lsat 4 numbers) was also on the way and that if I didn't get it by the end of the following week to call back.
On Oct. 14th I received a letter in the mail which had the PIN to the new card that I still hadn't received.
I called customer service AGAIN on Oct 20 to see if there was any update/info on where my replacement card was because I still hadn't received anything except for a PIN number to it. This time I was told that the agent couldn't see when a new card was sent, only that it had been sent and to call back if I didn't receive it by the following Friday.
I still have not received the new card, and now it's been a month since I first requested a new one.
I called agan today, Oct 27, and requested a supervisor, who was unable to help me, either.
I asked if it was possible to ship another card either expedited, overnight, or with a tracking number via priority mail and he told me that they could noit. I asked him if there was anything at all that could be done to help me considering it has been a month since my initial request. He said no. I asked for his supervisor, to which he said he would request a call back for me which I would get in 3-5 days.
I don't know what else to do.
I can't find any other phone number for customer service, and there were no email addresses I could find online, either. I hope you can succeed where I have failed.

Preferred solution: A replacement card! I am unable to use my money for purchases without the replacement card I requested over a month ago!!
